St. Pauli Church
The St. Pauli Church, also known to most of the people in the Big Stone County area as the “Two Mile Church” is located 2 miles south of Clinton, MN on US Hwy. 75, is in need of financial assistance. Each summer, members of Trinity Lutheran Church and the surrounding communities hold summer “Old Time Services” at St. Pauli Church. Sometime between services on July 5, 2014 and August 6, 2014, the support beams holding the bell at St Pauli broke, causing the bell to fall through 3 ceilings, and land firmly imbedded into the narthex floor, leaving major destruction in its path. Repairs to fix the damage are partially covered by insurance, however, due to insurance depreciation and some items of needed repair not covered by insurance, we found ourselves about $10,000 short. Thanks to many donations, we were able to fund this project. St. Pauli Lutheran Church is listed on the National Registry of Historic Places.
